Teaching CPR to Scouts

Teaching CPR to Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts. $40 well spent.First aid activities ought to teach scouts about what to do in emergency situations. Sometimes calling for an adult isn’t enough, and seconds matter. In fact, no one knowing CPR was the reason a friend’s father in law dropped dead last month.

That’s why I’m excited our Junior Girl Scout troop was gifted several hands-only CPR kits to teach the girls the basic skills of CPR in a pinch. The kits retail for about $40, and the mannequin could obviously be rotated among the scouts to encourage their CPR skills.

We plan to use the CPR kits in a service unit-wide first aid training for the girls later this fall. I’m excited to empower these girls in the event of an emergency!
