Our family loves to attend the community Arts for All program at the local arts center. Each Saturday they offer a free themed art activity for children of all ages to enjoy. While we haven’t done this as a troop outing yet, it would be a fun, low-cost outing for Girl Scouts or Cub Scouts of any age to enjoy.
Recently, we dropped in to check out their insect-themed crafts. They were bugging out with lumps of clay, metallic paint and leftover jewelry supplies from previous projects. Even the child who grumbled about going to Arts for All came away happy with his snakes and bugs.
This is an easy project to replicate with your scouting troop, too. All you need is air-dry clay, random items and jewelry pieces, and possibly some metallic paint if you want to go all out. Then let the creativity reign!
This is a really cute idea!

Such a great idea! I have tons of costume jewelry that would be perfect for this project! Thanks so much for sharing with us this week at Talented Tuesdays!
