Farewell, old friends. It’s been a good run.
You’ve been here before my babies. Trucked through two coasts and two countries. Been with me with kayaks and canoes, mud pits and caves.
Adventured with me through more than 125 miles of my Hoosier Hiking Bicentennial Challenge.
But Girl Scout camp, I guess, was the last straw. Somehow you didn’t survive.
It was sad to realize that morning that not one but both soles were working their way off.
It’s time for retirement. It’s hard to see that another pair could accompany me on so many adventures.
But I suppose it’s worth the try.
