Divine Mercy Patch Program for Catholic Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts

A new Catholic patch program focuses on the gift of Divine Mercy, and I couldn’t be happier.

A Divine Mercy patch has been launched by the National Catholic Committee on Scouting. The Divine Mercy patch is designed for all grades and youth, including Girl Scouts, American Heritage Girls and Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts.

I only learned about the Divine Mercy image, prayers and devotions a few years ago, when I casually picked up a copy of The Diary of St. Faustina in our adoration chapel. In her diary are simple reminders of ways to live out our faith, including the smallest way of pausing at 3 p.m. each day to remember the passion of Jesus and His gift of mercy to the world.  It is a beautiful way to live our faith.

In our troop (we are based at a Catholic school) and in my family, we’ve encouraged earning Catholic faith patches because not only do you learn about the faith, but also you may in a small way help evangelize by having that patch on public display on your uniform. I love that my Cub Scout son also gets excited to earn the Catholic patches as well!

I’ve compiled activities to help your troop or scout at home earn the Divine Mercy patch, as well as activities to help your child go beyond the patch program requirements in a creative light.

You can order a Divine Mercy patch activity pack here.

Proceeds help support our scouting adventures.

The 3” Divine Mercy patch is available through online ordering through the National Catholic Committee on Scouting, one of two organizations that develops Catholic patches for Girl Scouts and American Heritage Girls to earn.
