This year we were blessed to attend a grave decorating ceremony with the Girl Scouts of Western Ohio and the local Boy Scouts and American Heritage Girls at Dayton National Cemetery.
Placing flags at fallen soldiers’ gravestones at Dayton’s cemetery has taken place for roughly 40 years.
While a few of our younger scouts were restless during the opening ceremony after a long drive, our scouts truly enjoyed being a part of this tradition honoring our fallen.
It’s not too late to be involved. Find a list of 2017 Memorial Day ceremonies at national cemeteries.
