Tips and tricks for cooking with a Dutch oven.
As mom wrote earlier, our troop camps a lot. We are really good at setting up our tents. We’ve gathered enough supplies over the years so we don’t have to borrow much from my dad’s hunting gear anymore. We’re also pretty good about agreeing on what we are going to have for meals. (There is usually bacon involved!)
For us, camping doesn’t mean eating hamburgers and hot dogs or cold sandwiches and cereal all weekend! Our menu usually consists of food most people wouldn’t think of cooking at a campsite because we cook in a Dutch oven. Chicken enchiladas are my favorite, but the dishes below are also really good:
