Thinking Day “Connect” Journal

Having a troop of preteens, I’m increasingly noticing that feelings get bruised easy. That’s why I love that one of the ways you can celebrate World Thinking Day is by connecting with yourself.

One of the potential activities for Thinking Day for Daisies, Brownies and Juniors is to keep a happiness journal for one week.

Before you go to bed each night, write down three things that made you happy during your day—or draw pictures of them! At the end of the week, look back at what you’ve written. What kinds of things did you write down? Did any of them surprise you? Did it make you feel happier to think about the good things at the end of each day?

Happiness Challenge Journal for Girl Scout World Thinking Day. 2016 theme is Connect. Meets requirements for Daisies, Brownies and Juniors for the Thinking Day award.

Since our girls’ sports schedules are interfering with more “traditional” Thinking Day activities in our service unit, I’m offering this Happiness Challenge instead. We’ll be passing out these mini journals with the challenge for them to complete this activity in the month of February. I hope this helps my Juniors reconnect with what brings them joy.

Our journals are repurposed from leftover booklets from Letterboxing in Brownies, but you can easily make these with half-sheets of paper.
